Short story apps and new digital publishing platforms

Short stories fit perfectly onto small screens. With the birth of smartphones also comes the birth of a number of new short story publishing platforms. These are a great way to get your work out there before readers. Here are some of the apps or sites that I think are the best for short story writers …

Every day fiction (up to 1000 words) http://www.everydayfiction.com/
Alfie Dog Press http://alfiedog.com/

And, if you're looking for a bit of fun, or something to do with the kids, check out Storybird http://storybird.com/ - a great program to create visual stories, using a fantastic library of beautiful illustrations. My six year old created two books just yesterday.
